Early Intervention

We offer early intervention support and deliver courses such as Junior Whistlers and Business Enterprise to promote key life skills for children and young people.

Kickstart, in Partnership with Forviva Housing Trust  are working with pupils from several primary schools in Salford, Knowsley and East Cheshire to deliver our programme named ‘Smart Choices’.

The programme lasts 10 weeks and is aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour through addressing the underlying factors such as social inclusion, self-esteem, confidence, poor relationships, gang and drug culture, aspirations and emotional literacy. As cited in the GMP ASB newsletter:

in many cases young people become involved in ASB and low-level offending as a result of boredom and peer pressure”

All children in the groups have been highlighted to be at risk of the above and therefore deemed to need strategies that would help them to make ‘smart choices’ in life that will have a positive impact on their behaviour.

Some of the topics that will be covered are:

  • What is anti-social behaviour?
  • What do you know about hate crime?
  • Understanding your feelings
  • Team Building
  • Healthy Lifestyles
  • Crime and Consequence
