Highfield Primary – Football club.
The boys and girls of Highfield primary school have been enjoying another term of football provided by kickstart coaches Sam and newcomer Tom who has plenty of experience from managing an under 12’s team to working with the FA at a programme called ‘FA Mashups’. Tom brings with him a plethora of football knowledge that he has been relaying to the younger children over the past couple of months.
The club has always been a popular one at Highfield and this term has been no different with 23 children from Year one to Year six turning up every week with the goal of improving their football skills. Sam has been working with the juniors and Tom was happy to take the infants, who instantly warmed to him and were always eager to come back the following week to practice their skills. Meanwhile, Sam and the juniors, many of whom have been to football club before: knew what to expect. However, there were a few new children which is always a pleasure and a challenge. They settled in well and have had lots of fun and learnt new skills in the process.
This year has been a good one for Highfield Primary football club, hopefully everyone has wonderful Christmas and new year and they will be ready to do it all again in 2019!
