New Partner School

Kickstart are delighted to announce a new partnership with Stockbridge Village Primary School in Knowsley.  The school which is led by Acting Headteacher Jan Smyth has been nominated by Forviva Housing Group to work with Kickstart and funding has been secured to run a series of programmes in the school to benefit children, staff and families.  In addition to offering children and adults weekly family club sessions where inter-generational activities are provided as part of the ‘Inspiring Futures’ programme, Kickstart Mentors will also be working with small groups of children to promote ‘smart choices’ and focus on addressing any behavioural, emotional and social needs the children may have.     Lunchtimes are such an important part of the school day and the school already offer a number of lunchtime clubs for children throughout the school and this offer will be further expanded through this new partnership.  By working with Lunchtime Organisers and the children in Key-Stage 2 the school will introduce and roll out the Kickstart sports leaders programme where children and lunchtime staff will provide recreational activities and games on the playground.

Kickstart are very excited about working with Stockbridge Village, Managing Director Dean who will be leading the project said;

“I am delighted to announce the new partnership with Stockbridge Village Primary School.  In the early stages of planning, I have witnessed a dedicated and professional school leadership team who have a genuine desire to provide support for families and continually review their school offer.  The children are excited about Kickstart coming in to work with them and we are grateful to Forviva housing group for providing the funding to make this possible.  Education does not just take place in a classroom and Stockbridge’s Charter promotes the importance of being unique, our programmes share that vision and children will be given further opportunities to develop as individuals”

Jan Smyth – Acting Headteacher at Stockbridge Village Primary School said;

“At Stockbridge Village Primary School we are committed to providing the best possible opportunities for our children and ensure that we offer children exciting experiences which will inspire them to succeed, to maximise the impact of this we already offer lots of opportunities for families to be involved with their children’s education. The new and exciting element of this project with Kickstart is that we are able to extend these opportunities to wider family members and that the project will be designed in a completely bespoke way to support families to learn together in a way which they are able to steer – I feel this fits in beautifully with our ethos and philosophy of child led learning. I am very excited for our school to be involved and look forward to seeing how the club grows and develops. The added bonus that Kickstart are able to work with us around lunchtime play opportunities and with some targeted work in the form of the Smart Choices programme is the icing on the cake; I know this will have a positive impact on children in terms of their well being and provide them with vital life skills for the future. We also would like to thank Forviva for providing this opportunity for our school”
