At Barton Moss After School Club the children have enjoyed carving pumpkins, they made flapjacks using the pumpkin seeds as well as making masks from paper mache. The children love to plan and take part in messy activities, building their creative skills and resilience to continue when the task becomes difficult. Some of the younger children asked for spooky pictures to colour in and paint, whilst all children in the club have enjoyed taking part in “Just Dance” which helps to develop body co-ordination, mental and physical well-being.
Next week staff will be discussing fire safety with the children through the use of creative activities: They will be making rockets, completing a firework display using: paper, paint, string, glitter, and making chocolate marshmallows with sprinkles. Threaded through the Guy Fawkes tasks will be reminders on our “British Values”.
We invite all parents/carers to look at the children’s ideas and end products when collecting from the After School Club.
