On Wednesday, at our holiday club in Stretford the children had the opportunity to take part in learning some new circus skills.
The children all engaged and loved trying out the different activities on offer. We had some amazing plate spinners, almost all of them managed to spin at least one, some managed two with assistance and a few children could spin four at once (with a little help from the entertainer).
A little trickier to master was the stilt walking. As you can see from the pictures we had some successes and some struggles. Everyone gave it a good try and lots of laughter was shared. The children also had chance to learn how to hoola with several hoops, walk on wheels, balance golf, and one of the most popular was the string and spinning top.
It is well researched that children need to take risks in a safe environment to help build resilience and perseverance. There were plenty of opportunities for the children to do both during the workshops.
