Our Stretford Holiday club had a fantastic day in Conwy, Wales on Tuesday 30th July.
We were very lucky to share the day with 16 fantastic and well-behaved children who were a credit to you as parents. The day started with our coach trip to Conwy Castle, where we had an informative and interactive puppet show that told the children the history – this was led by ‘the Bard’ who had all the children engaged. Our next stop was an investigation into the characters that would have lived in the castle, and finally the children were able to try their hand at archery. They were given full instructions and safe arrows to shoot the characters we had found out about with the Bard.
We had an eventful lunch, joined by sandwich stealing seagulls who appeared to be able to spot a chocolate brioche from several miles away.
A quick trip to Plas Mawr House gave the children insight into clothing, furniture and way of life for the well-to-do. They were able to try on some outfits and looked amazing.
Our next stop was the beach: sandcastle making, beach ball, frisbee, shell collecting and kite flying kept the children and staff busy until the heavens opened. As we were unable to have an ice-cream at the beach we had one on our return to the hub. A great end to a great day.
