We have had a very busy few weeks at Stockbridge Village Leisure Centre where we have facilitated ‘Playstreets’.
We are fortunate in having the use of the main sports hall, It has been needed as we have had over 100 attendees each week. This weeks session also gave Stockbridge residents the chance to try their hand at making spicy minced chicken wraps, and of course eating them.
Our fantastic sports coaches, Tom, Rebecca and Mairead have set up and taught football, dodge ball, some gymnastics and basketball skills. The younger children have been kept occupied with the bouncy castle, colouring and crafts. Over the weeks we have had the opportunity to weave, to make ‘baby shark’ chatterboxes, pinwheels, lego men and gift boxes to name a few.
Families have had the opportunity to help their children make and eat sandwiches provided by Forviva Housing. It is great to see many adults spending time with their children helping them to refine or build new skills.
