At St. Matthew’s After School club the children have been celebrating Chinese new year and Australia day.
For Chinese New year the children enjoyed making lanterns, Chinese fans and mask’s: which they decorated with plenty of glitter and sequins. They also made a bookmark with a picture of a rat on it and wrote their name using the Chinese alphabet. For a treat they had prawn crackers and sweet chilli sauce for snack.
For Australia day the children made koala mask’s, kangaroos using tissue paper, decorated the Australian flag, didgeridoo and a boomerang. The children tested them by throwing them up into the air to see if they would return to them.
