The sun always seems to shine at Westwood on Wednesday, or maybe it’s just the presence of Smiley Sam at Family Club that keeps the children happy.
A small turn out but a big thank you to a lovely group of regular attendees, such wonderful adults who really get involved with the children.
Research shows children will only remember the strong emotions involved when they watch tv or movies alone. When an adult is supportive and discusses what is happening this has a major benefit to children’s emotional literacy as well as to their comprehension skills in and out of school.
The Gruffalo proved to be less entertaining than the babies who attended and popcorn was enjoyed by all. Drawing and cutting out were enjoyed alongside Sams sports activities outside.
Enjoy your half term break.
