What you will need:
- Recycled materials
- Paper
- Sellotape
- Scissors
- String
- Sink, bath or water tray
How to do it:
- Children begin by choosing recycled materials to design their boat.
- Spend 20 minutes building their boat, using support where needed with scissors, tape, or string.
- Once complete, each boat is tested in water to see if it floats or sinks.
- If a boat sinks, children can adapt their design and test it again to improve it.

Top Tips:
Use wider materials at the base of the boat to help it float and stay balanced in the water.
