Kickstart at Mesne Lea Primary
Hello everyone, welcome to our half-termly Keeping Up with Kickstart newsletter. Here’s a snapshot of what children have been enjoying recently at Mesne Lea Primary School, along with key updates and what’s coming up next.
What’s Been Happening
Over the past few weeks, children have been embracing all things summer through a variety of creative, active and child-led experiences. Activities have included World Cup-themed challenges, music sessions and plenty of outdoor fun.
Children have been working together to create portraits of people they look up to, designing summer-themed junk models and learning how to stay safe and keep cool during the warmer weather.
Highlight of the Term
- Celebrated our Year 6 Leavers Week with a range of exciting trips and a memorable Year 6 Prom.
- Enjoyed a fantastic Summer Fair with children and families coming together to celebrate the end of the school year.
- Continued our popular Lollipop Person initiative throughout the half term.
Upcoming Dates & Events
- Family Club will continue from September and will take place every Tuesday afternoon.
- Inset Day Holiday Club – Friday 24th July.
- Summer Holiday Club – Monday 27th July to Friday 28th August.
- HAF Summer Holiday Club – Tuesday 28th July to Friday 21st August.

Important Information
As the weather remains warm, please ensure your child attends with:
- A named water bottle.
- A sun hat or cap.
- Sun cream applied before arriving at club. If your child needs to reapply sun cream during the day, please ensure they bring a named bottle with them.
