Kickstart at Mesne Lea Primary
Hello everyone, welcome to our half-termly Keeping Up with Kickstart newsletter. Here’s a snapshot of what children have been enjoying recently at Mesne Lea Primary School, along with key updates and what’s coming up next.
What’s Been Happening
Over the past few weeks, children attending our Kickstart provision have been taking part in a range of creative, active and child-led activities, supporting confidence, teamwork and wellbeing.
This half term, the children have explored:
- Seasons & Changes – Learning about how the seasons change and what we notice in the world around us.
- Superheroes Topic – Thinking about who our real-life heroes are and celebrating the people who make a difference in our lives.
- Teamwork Focus Weeks – Including Games Week and Mental Health Awareness Week, where children worked together, built friendships and focused on wellbeing.
Highlight of the Term
- We currently have four Marble Jar winners, with lots of children very close to achieving this reward too.
- We are also excitedly waiting for our cocoons to turn into butterflies, continuing our life cycle learning.
Upcoming Dates & Events
- Kickstart is turning 10!
- Whitsun Holiday Club – Tuesday 26th May to Friday 5th June
- Summer Fair – Friday 26th June
- Summer Holiday Club – begins week commencing 27th July
