Kickstart at Mottram C Of E Primary
Hello everyone, welcome to our half-termly Keeping Up with Kickstart newsletter. Here’s a snapshot of what children have been enjoying recently at Mottram C of E Primary School, along with key updates and what’s coming up next.
What’s Been Happening
Over the past few weeks, children attending our Kickstart provision have been taking part in a wide range of creative, active and wellbeing-focused activities.
This half term, the children have enjoyed:
- A variety of activities including relaxing yoga sessions, sports day, food tasting, planting sunflowers, Aboriginal art, sensory calming bottles, bird feeders and junk modelling.
- Weekly themed activities such as Wellness Week, Exploring Our Senses, Around the World, and Recycle, Reuse, Regrow & Nature Week, encouraging creativity, learning and environmental awareness.
Highlight of the Term
- Our Around the World Week was a huge success, with children trying new foods, developing their geography knowledge and learning about different cultures.
- During our sensory activities, children took part in an outdoor scavenger hunt followed by a blindfolded touch test. They showed great bravery exploring items such as jelly, spaghetti, oats and even a teddy bear — which many thought was something much scarier!
Upcoming Dates & Events
- Kickstart is turning 10!
- Movie & Pizza Night – Friday 22nd May.
- School’s Out for Summer Disco – Friday 24th August.
