Kickstart at St Matthew’s CE Primary
Hello everyone, welcome to our half-termly Keeping Up with Kickstart newsletter. Here’s a snapshot of what children have been enjoying recently at St Matthew’s, along with key updates and what’s coming up next.
What’s Been Happening
Over the past few weeks, children attending our Kickstart provision have been taking part in a wide range of creative, active and child-led activities.
This term, the children have enjoyed:
- Celebrating Earth Day, including planting vegetables and flowers during Gardening Week.
- Taking part in a Keep Fit Week, learning how to stay active and healthy in a fun way, with older children supporting and teaching younger ones.
- A fun-filled Pirate Week, where children made telescopes and created their own treasure.
- Ending the week with a VE Day celebration party.
- Children’s voice has been a key focus this term, with activities shaped by ideas from our Kickstart Council, ensuring sessions are engaging and child-led.
Highlight of the Term
- One of the most popular activities this term has been making Inside Out sensory bottles and fidget toys during Mental Health Awareness Week.
- The children have also really enjoyed celebrating VE Day and focusing on wellbeing and mental health.
