Kickstart at Waterloo Primary
Hello everyone, welcome to our half-termly Keeping Up with Kickstart newsletter. Here’s a snapshot of what children have been enjoying recently at Waterloo Primary School, along with key updates and what’s coming up next.
What’s Been Happening
Over the past few weeks, children attending our Kickstart provision have been taking part in a range of creative, active and child-led activities.
This half term, the children have been exploring:
- The Natural World – Learning about nature, animals and how to care for them.
- Sharing ideas about pets and dream pets, and discussing how to look after animals responsibly.
- Taking part in farm-themed activities, linking to school trips and real-life experiences.
- Exploring music, rhythm and dance, including sharing favourite songs from different genres and how music makes us move.
Highlight of the Term
- Children have really enjoyed spending more time outdoors, feeling inspired by nature and learning why it’s important to care for the environment and animals.
- A standout activity has been creating art using recycled materials and natural items, encouraging creativity while being environmentally aware.
