If you work in wraparound or out of school care, you will probably recognise this feeling. You know the value of what you do, but it is not always clear how that fits into Ofsted language or the inspection framework. Because wraparound sits around the school day rather than inside it, inspection can sometimes feel unclear or uncomfortable, as though you are trying to translate your work into someone else’s system. Over the past few months, I have been directly involved in two Ofsted inspections across our wraparound provisions. I am still very hands on in the day to day running of all of our settings, so what I am sharing here is not theory or second-hand advice. Summer Holiday Clubs 2023
The Summer Holiday Clubs for 2023 are now open for bookings. Places fill up fast and are allocated on a first come , first served basis. As usual, we have some exciting trips and experiences on offer at all of our provisions. Our clubs are open from 8am until either 5.45pm or 6pm, depending on location. Children are required to bring a packed lunch, suitable clothing & sun-cream (weather dependent) as well as a refillable water bottle. On trip days, packed lunches should be brought in a disposable carrier bag. There are additional charges for trip days to cover the cost of transport and additional staffing. Bookings open for Summer Holiday Camp
Kickstart are pleased to announce that following the priority booking phase for key workers, there are still a few places remaining for general booking for the Summer Holiday Camp. Based on the information available to us now, we do believe that it will be safe to reopen and run a full Summer Holiday Club, starting on Monday 27th July 2020, running daily (weekdays) until Friday 28th August 2020. Kickstart will have to put additional measures in place in order to run the club safely and minimise any risks. The Kickstart COVID-19 contingency plan and risk assessments are being reviewed on a daily basis at present so it would not be useful to send these to parents or carers at this stage as a lot can change in a few weeks.
