If you work in wraparound or out of school care, you will probably recognise this feeling. You know the value of what you do, but it is not always clear how that fits into Ofsted language or the inspection framework. Because wraparound sits around the school day rather than inside it, inspection can sometimes feel unclear or uncomfortable, as though you are trying to translate your work into someone else’s system. Over the past few months, I have been directly involved in two Ofsted inspections across our wraparound provisions. I am still very hands on in the day to day running of all of our settings, so what I am sharing here is not theory or second-hand advice. Inspection Outcome Kickstart Childcare (Bradshaw Hall)
We are really pleased to let you know that following our Ofsted inspection at Kickstart Childcare Bradshaw Hall in January, the report has now been published, and we can finally share it with you. Some of you may know that the framework for inspection has recently changed and the new grading system sets a very high bar for a secure or expected judgement. We are delighted that we have met and exceeded this high bar, receiving a grade of strong in 3 out of the 4 judgements.
