We have been informed that St Matthew’s will be closed on Monday 9th November 2020. The school will be contacting all parents/carers directly and any queries or questions should be directed to school. For obvious reasons, breakfast and afterschool club will be closed tomorrow (Monday 9th November 2020) and we will let you have more information as soon as we have any.

As you know the Prime Minister delivered a Press Conference (Saturday 31 October 2020) regarding the National Lockdown that will be introduced on Thursday 5th November 2020 for an initial period of 4 weeks. Our Sports Clubs will only be able to remain open if the primary purpose is childcare. We are in the process of working with Schools and taking advice from Public Health before making any final decisions. Thank you for your patience and continued support during what is a very difficult period.

Wow! We have 73 families registered for our virtual Family Club. We are catering for 93 adults and 126 children each week. We have received pictures from some parents showing some of the activities that they have taken part in, and the end results. We would like more feedback please as we are unable to take our usual photographs and chat to you all. Virtual Family Club will recommence week commencing 9th November 2020 and we will be contacting everyone who has participated so far to see if they would like to carry on and receive a resources pack up to Christmas.

Kickstart are pleased to announce that the Stretford October Half-Term Holiday Club is open for bookings. The club will be open from Monday 26th until Friday 30th October 2020 at St Matthew’s CE Primary School and children aged 3-11 are welcome to attend. As Kickstart was open for the Summer Holiday Period, we have a series of COVID-19 secure measures in place that our staff have received extensive training on and have implemented successfully for a number of weeks. Spaces will be limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. You can book a place online at www.wearekickstart.com All parents who used the provision in the summer were invited to complete a very short online questionnaire, we received 22 responses and the summary results are below:

Kickstart will be running a Holiday Club at Barton Moss on Monday 14th September to cover the INSET Day at school. The club is designed to help working parents and carers and will take place between 9am and 3pm at a cost of £15 per child. Children should arrive with a packed lunch in a disposable bag and a refillable water bottle. Further details will be sent to all those who book a space. Kickstart are very proud that Barton Moss has received recognition from the School Games for the work that has been carried out at the school in the Autumn and Spring terms of 2019/20 and for the Virtual Work carried out in the summer term. The school has been recognised for their excellence in sport and for the hard work carried out to keep children engaged in physical activity during lockdown. The commitment and sportsmanship that the children displayed in competitions and The Kickstart Virtual Sports Day were among the factors that were recognised as being a major part of the awards.
