Kickstart and the Class of 2020 signed off from Marton with a wonderful outdoor event that was hosted by the Dodd Family and culminated in a wonderful game of family rounders where the children beat the adults. Due to COVID-19, the event was limited in numbers and measures were put in place in terms of the sports equipment but that did not stop everyone having a brilliant time. At the start of the evening, the Kickstart Badges were presented and it was acknowledged how everyone had worked hard to achieve their awards in what were difficult and unprecedented circumstances. In addition to the considerable amount of bronze and silver badges that were presented, there were also four gold and two red badges awarded for excellence in sport and inspiration. Kickstart were delighted to present five gold badges and the first ever red badge winners at Barton Moss Primary School in 2020. In what has been a difficult year for everyone, the award of the red badges was even more important this year as the ambassadors became role models for other children in promoting physical activity at home during the Coronavirus pandemic. Lucas B and Alexandru were awarded gold badges for their achievements in sport throughout the year. In addition to competing for school in a number of events, both Lucas B and Alexandru have shown their commitment to sport and displayed excellence in a number of competitions and they were rightly proud of their achievements. Pott Shrigley Church School is delighted to announce that Kickstart has been appointed as our PE Provider for the academic year 2020/21.  In addition to providing Sports CPD for staff and helping develop the PE and School Sports Curriculum, Kickstart will also be working with the children each week, training class 2 to become sports leaders and promoting fitness and healthy lifestyles generally. The Kickstart Virtual Sports Day has had over 250 participants take part so far and we have had many pictures and videos from schools and parents showcasing the amazing effort and skills that children of all ages are displaying. We will be producing a gallery of images next week with the overall results and prize winners.
